OUR CLASSTRIP TO ENGLAND (6e)

MONDAY, TUESDAY:

We drove about 12 hours by bus and ferry. We started the trip at 10.30 pm. The bus trip was very funny. We had food and drinks and we talked a lot. As we did a toilet break we ran as fast as we could. We also watched a movie, but we couldn’t watch the full movie, because we were tired. In the morning we arrived in Calais where we took the ferry. It was very big. There were shops, casinos, a small bank to exchange money and small food shops. After a long time we arrived in Dover. From there we continued to Canterbury.

In Canterbury we had free time. We went shopping and we bought a lot of things. We also saw the Canterbury Cathedral and the lovely streets and lanes. When we were tired we sat on the pavement. After two hours we were supposed to meet Mrs Krause and Mr. Borovsky. Some of us walked on so quickly that they lost the group, because they took another way back to the bus. But since Canterbury is not very big we finally came together again.
Then we went on to New Forest to meet our host families. They were very nice. We had our own room and a bathroom. We also had wardrobes to put our clothes in. The next morning we got up at 7.00 a.m. and 30 minutes later we had our breakfast. We ate cornflakes for breakfast. For dinner we had pizza, chips, pasta, chicken nuggets, potatoes and bread with eggs. We asked our host parents questions about how they live. It was very nice with them.

WEDNESDAY:

In the morning we drove to Bournemouth. The weather was wonderful. Just right for an excursion to the beach. First we played in the sand and the boys ran around on the beach. Then the girls played in the water and some boys also played with us. Mrs Krause allowed us to go swimming, because it was very warm. After 20 minutes we had to come out of the water again. Then we went to a restaurant where we had fish and chips. The food tasted very nice with ketchup and mayonaise. Some of us tried vinegar.
After lunch we had free time for one hour. Many girls went to Primark to go shopping.

In the afternoon we went walking over the cliffs at Durdle Door. There we saw beautiful blue water from the top of the cliff. We also saw a lot of beautiful sceneries. There was a big stone coming out of the water (not really) and it had the shape of a cave. At the bottom of the cliff there was a beach. But unfortunately we couldn’t go down there and play, because we were already late and it had started to rain. Our host parents were waiting at the meeting point. They had to wait there for 30 minutes. Some of them were quite upset. After that we went home to our host parents’ houses.

THURSDAY:

In the morning we went to Salisbury. We started the day with a walk from the train station to the Cathedral. Then we visited the Cathedral and learned something about Christianity and the Anglican Church. A nice old lady guided us through the church.

After that we went to Stonehenge. That was really boring. We could just look at the stones from far away. It was not allowed to touch them. The interesting thing was that people built those stones in special shapes 6,000 years ago only by handycraft.

FRIDAY:

It was the last day of our class trip. In the morning we went to Brighton and did a rallye. It was very nice.

In the afternoon we went to the Royal Pavilion. We went inside and had a look around. Mobile guides explained how the Pavilion was decorated and how King George celebrated wonderful parties there. It was really nice and big. The Royal Pavilion looked very Indian from outside  and Chinese from inside. It was decorated with dragons and bamboo. There were many rooms in it. In the Royal Pavilion there was also a souvenir shop and in the end we could buy something there.

Then we went to the Brighton Pier. On the pier there was a casino with a lot of slot machines. Many of us took a ride on the ghosttrain. We had so much fun.
Later in the evening we went to an Italian restaurant. On the way to the restaurant we all were in high spirits. Before we could go inside we had to calm down. All of us ordered pizza. Kerem and Eren-Can had pepperoni pizza. It was a wonderful night.

At 10.00 pm we left Brighton to start our journey back home.
